SCULPTRA
Sculptra is a non-invasive biostimulant that corrects the loss of volume in the skin, uniquely addressing wrinkles and facial aging.

How does it work?
Sculptra falls into the volumizer family of injectables and is different from dermal filler in that it is a biostimulant. It is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a safe, biodegradable, synthetic material commonly used in dissolvable stitches.
When injected, Sculptra’s poly-L-lactic acid starts its heavy lifting deep within the dermis to kick-start the body’s collagen production, gradually restoring volume within the skin while smoothing wrinkles and folds for a more youthful appearance with maximum results typically presented after 3-4 months.
What to expect?
Your practitioner will provide an in-depth consultation to determine if you are the right candidate for Sculptra. During the procedure, which is traditionally less than an hour, you will experience a series of injections within the deep dermis, followed by your practitioner massaging the injection site to evenly disperse the poly-L-lactic acid.
On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months, although the number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from patient to patient relative to collagen loss.
Who is a good candidate?
If you find yourself unhappy with the early signs of aging on your face—including sagging cheeks, hollow cheekbones, nasolabial folds (commonly called “smile lines”) and marionette lines—or you’d like to address the definition of your jaw, sunken temples or a thin chin—Sculptra may be the right choice for you.
Is there any aftercare required?
The Sculptra treatment requires little to no downtime. The most common side effect is redness and swelling at the injection side.
Is it safe?
Sculptra has been used as an injectable for more than 20 years in more than 30 countries, and is made from the same material that has been used safely for decades in dissolvable stitches. Synthesized from lactic acid, a naturally occurring component found within the body, poly-L-lactic acid is biocompatible and doesn’t require any allergy pre-testing.
The results?
Sculptra is designed to showcase results gradually and discreetly, with most patients seeing maximum benefits around the three-month mark when the series of injections are completed. Skin is visibly rejuvenated and smoother, winkles and folds are decreased, and cheek mass is restored for around two years.
