Thanks to laser hair removal, you can finally escape the pain of your hair removal routine; no more nasty razor cuts and sore razor burns, and no more stinging monthly waxing sessions.
How does hair removal work?
VPL hair removal is a great solution to unwanted hair that is a permanent, tolerable procedure. VPL can be used on all areas including legs, back and bikini to name a few!
How does it work?
Lasers treat a target in the skin called a chromophore. Chromophores come in two types: melanin (the pigment in sun damage, age spots, and hair follicles) and oxyhemoglobin (the redness in blood vessels or rosacea). The specific wavelengths in laser treatments serve to destroy these chromophores. VPL Ultra Plus Energist allows for treatment of various issues by emitting the right wavelength for each type of treatment.
What to expect?
VPL hair removal is an extremely safe and permanent method to get rid of unwanted hair on the body and face. It is a perfect solution to embarrassing unwanted hair or razor burn. Consider the benefits of being able to reduce shaving and waxing from your routine; you will save time and money in the long run!
The variable pulse technology allows for treatment of many different skin types or hair colors. This laser is highly specific to the hair follicle, destroying the follicle without causing damage to the surrounding skin.
Laser Hair removal requires between 6-10 sessions for optimal reduction in hair.
Who is a good candidate?
A good candidate is a healthy person that is looking to treat their unwanted hair. It is extremely important to use sun protection and to avoid tanning beds for 2 weeks post procedure. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications to VPL.
Is there any aftercare required?
Treatments are comfortable and it is very important that you avoid any sun to the treated areas two weeks PRIOR to each session, as tanned skin will be more reactive to the laser. Treatments take from 15-30 minutes to perform and there is no downtime, although your skin may temporarily be pink and have a small amount of swelling around the follicles (resembling tiny bumps). It is also important to avoid waxing during the treatment period as the laser only targets active hair follicles under the skin.
Is it safe?
As with all laser -or light treatments, there is a risk that the treated skin becomes darker or lighter. Most of the times this is not permanent and disappears after a while. If the skin is tanned, the chances of this happening are somewhat larger. We recommend you not to tan or sun bath two weeks before the treatment and four weeks after the treatment. In addition, it is advisable to use a good sunscreen during this period.
